Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy is launching a new master's program in Early Childhood Intervention, with a duration of 2 years, for the academic year 2024-2025.
The mission of this program is to train professionals capable of providing adequate individual assistance to young children with developmental disorders, presenting and acquiring new theories and practical techniques to understand their problems and needs, as well as to help them reach their maximum developmental potential. The program will be conducted in accordance with national and international quality standards and scientific research practice.
Considered one of the most complex medical-social and educational interventions, especially for children with severe disabilities, early childhood intervention focuses on the age group up to 5 years and includes the identification, assessment and assistance of developmental disorders and the risks of their occurrence, to stimulate physical, motor, sensory, cognitive, communicative, social, psychosocial and adaptive development. Thus, the aim of the program is to train competent professionals in the field of early intervention in childhood with a view to strengthening the capacity of the support system for families and children with developmental disorders and disabilities.
The master's program interdisciplinary profile covers three fundamental fields - health, social sciences, journalism and public relations and education in accordance with the Nomenclature of professional training fields and specialties in higher education.
The objectives of the study program are:

the application of values and standards of good practice while exercising professional tasks;

effective implementation of activity models in the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary team in the field of early intervention;

effective implementation of educational activities in promoting early intervention;

knowledge of the sciences underlying early intervention and the socio-economic burden of developmental disorders, including disability in children;
-
early identification and diagnosis of developmental disorders and risks of their development in children;
-
the development and implementation, in partnership with the parents/other legal representative, of the individual plan as well as the provision of early intervention services to the child and the family, in accordance with minimum quality standards and the Individual Plan;
-
supporting the stimulation of child's development by family training and by strengthening the parental capacities in order to ensure the achievement of the child's maximum potential as well as educational and social inclusion;

carrying out the research activity.
Graduates of the master’s program Early Intervention in Childhood can work in medical and sanitary institutions and organizations specialized in the provision of early intervention services, regardless of the type of ownership and legal form of organization.
